Aspartame
There This year 2008 we are promoting Korean Aspartame from Daesang. Deasang Quality is one of the best in the market and one of the few alternatives to Chinese. . Prices are very competitive.
Acesulfam K	Neohesperidine
Price for Ace K moving up with reasons for hike being rise in sulpur prices. As we know well the key step in Ace K production is the use of sulphur trioxide.. Prices for August Shipment at $18 kg from $9.50 kg early in the yearfor FCl lots. 	Saccharin
	slight easing in market with offers at $20 kg for shipment. Indian Origin could be around soon at similar prices
Glycine	Vitamin C
We have great difficulty in being able to offer any Glycine for delivery in 2008. World shortages due to Glyphospahte herbicide demands. No product from japan available..	Prices rose fast from $11.00 April to $25 kg as Problems in China persist. DC Grades very short and even higher.

Aspartame
Price as predicted from major western [producers have shot up in price to Euro 25 + across Europe. Majors have been very firm in their determination to get prices up again. China has seen two new entries to this market of good quality and prices still held down as this year sees big attempt to take markets across the world. Only one company is really self sufficient in phenyl alanine production with the others still too dependent on imported product. Chinese prices in the market at $18.50 upwards. Trend will be upward movement .

IN THE PAST .....

Aspartame
It has now and truly reached the status of commodity in many markets. The major producers, Ajinomoto, Holland Sweetener and Nutrasweet are still retaining a large portion of the world markets in the face of intense competition from China. Prices in the past year have hit $20-$22 kg to the major end user. China is trying to make inroads at $18 kg. However this is not a significant saving for bigger users who are on quantity rebates too. Aspartame has come under a lot of pressure in recent times of having a negative image in health circles even though it has undergone many studies supporting its safe use in foods.
Acesulfam K	Vitamin C
This product will see dramatic changes over the next 18 months as the patent of Nutrinova expires in March 2005. Current levels in the market of $35 kg upwards will plummet 60% when China re- enters the market.	The highs of $12 kg last year have now fallen to $4 kg for full loads.
In next weeks newsletters we will be featuring the Chinese Market giving a run down on the producers and their capabilities. China will continue to be an attractive area for outsourcing raw materials for food additives and fine chemicals. Nuscaan is available for services in outsourcing from this market.
